BRIEF: Deliver a range of immersive domes to showcase joined up training ability at ITEC 2015.
- 1 x JFACTSU immersive dome / 3.2m / 240° x 120° field of view / 6 projectors
- 1 x Flight simulator dome / 3.2m / 180° x 120° / 2 projectors
- 1 x 5th generation / fully configurable cockpit
- 1 x ImmersaVu / single projector / fully deployable
Working in collaboration, the booth was able to showcase a JTAC, Forward Observer and Dismounted Infantry working together in a contested environment. With graphics supplied by MetaVR, the group worked together in a virtual representation of Kismayo, Somalia.
The JTAC directed from the larger immersive dome, the Forward Observer used the ImmersaVu and the fighter pilot flew overhead in the configurable cockpit and immersive dome. The dismounted infantry moved across the environment on the OmniDeck and surveyed the virtual reality landscape through an OculusRift headset.
The set up caused a stir and Immersive Display were proud to be part of a stand which “ripped up the rulebook for future trade shows’’ and successfully “provided an immersive hybrid warfare scenario that drew significant attention’.

BRIEF: Design and install a driver racing cockpit and dome
NOTES: Fortec required a driver simulator to complement a new training facility at their UK headquarters.
The brief was to create a truly realistic driver experience.
The design included a replica racing tub and a 3.2m immersive dome.
The dome used 3 projectors to create 180° x 100° field of view.

BRIEF: JFACTSU Installation
NOTES: The client won a successful bid to install a JTAC training system for the RAF in the UK.
We delivered and installed a 3.2m double truncated dome.
The dome included 6 4k projectors and was set up to produce a 240°x 120° field of view.
The immersive Close Air Support Simulator 240 (iCASS 240) is an accreditable FAC/JTAC simulator in accordance with NATO STANAG 3797 and US JFS ESC MOA.

BRIEF: Install a immersive dome in research laboratory with limited space
NOTES: After assessing the space the solution was to install an ImmersaVu system.
Its adaptability and small footprint meant that the space was maximized without compromising the immersion.
Post Graduates have been using the ImmersaVu to enable research into distance learning and virtual collaboration (as featured in itNOW magazine).
