ITEC 2016

ITEC 2016

News: 23 May 2016

ITEC, The Excel, London 2016

Another fantastic show, much closer to home this time.

It was good to see a range of familiar faces at this years ITEC show and conference. As always this well attended show drew key defense personnel from around the world. The show provides an opportunity for companies to exhibit the latest in defense technologies to decision makers throughout the armed forces.

This year we attended the show with major international industry player Rockwell Collins to provide hardware to demonstrate their joined up training abilities. The booth featured the ImmersaVu and the F35 Flight Sim and combined with Rockwell Collins’ impressive software provided and excellent showcase of training ability and technology.

Rockwell Collins drew a huge amount of interest at their well staffed and busy booth, both with existing and new clients keen to try out their VR capabilities and to find out about their current and in development projects.

Sadly it will be the last show for our well traveled immersive F35 cockpit and ImmersaVu Desktop system. However we are pleased that our equipment is finding a new home Rockwell Collins as part of their demo and test suite.

Keep an eye out for our  updated, new look F35 cockpit model which is currently in production and will be featuring at future shows.

Omega Conference 2016

Omega Conference 2016

News: 26 February 2016

The Future Indirect Fires Conference, Bristol 2016.

Immersive Display Group were pleased to support Rockwell Collins as they attended the conference in Bristol last month. The ImmersaVu was used to demonstrate new training opportunities to attendees and drew attention to the booth with its stand out graphics and easily adaptable design. Rockwell Collins have previously used the ImmersaVu set up for another European conference in the later part of the last year.

This collaboration is working extremely well as it not only feeds into a future military project commissioned by Rockwell Collins, but means that we are also honing out exhibition and military training demonstration skills in preparation for ITEC 2016.

We look forward to seeing some familiar faces from last year and some new ones from defence projects coming through this year. If you get the chance come over and visit us on The Rockwell Collins booth.

BETT Education Show

BETT Education Show

News: 22 January 2016

Immersive Display worked in collaboration with The University of Essex to showcase collaborative distance learning opportunities at one of the largest education shows in the UK. Key decision makers made up the bulk of the well attended show held at the Excel center in London.

The show was an opportunity for schools and educational institutions to see what new technology is available to help develop curriculum outputs in a modern digital age. The ImmersaVu desktop was put to good use showcasing collaborative global robotics engineering. The concept was designed and developed by a extremely talented PHD student at the university (Anasol) who is now taking the developed idea and ImmersaVu with her to full time employment at the BT Innovation Centre.

The show was a great success with people surprised at the flexibility of the system as a learning tool. We received a great deal of interest from several high profile institutions and we look forward to moving forward in the education sector. Thanks to Essex University for their support at the show.

Close Air Solutions Media Coverage

Close Air Solutions Media Coverage

News: 08 September 2015

We are really pleased and excited for our client Close Air Solutions on the recent press coverage of the innovative iCASS training system. Close Air Solutions purchased our ImmersaVu 300 dome, 6 projector set up and blending and warping tools for their JTAC training dome.

Close Air Solutions‘ first bid with us as supplier earned them a high profile first commission as co-founder Tom Ball explains – “We delivered a simulator to the UK MOD in under 4 months, and it received the highest accreditation to replace live missions as part of UK national training. In the past, big defence prime contracts can often be measured in years, 4 months is almost unheard of.”

We like to think the combination of two small innovative companies has made this possible and we congratulate them on their achievement.

However we will allow ourselves a huge pat on the back for our role designing and installing the visuals because as Tom explains – “People literally lose themselves in the simulation. They lose their inhibitions, their sense of time, the outside world does not exist for them”

The BT Innovation Show 2015 was a huge success. Visitors from a huge range of sectors and industries were able to access and try out a huge range of digital new and emerging technologies.

The showcase featured technology which will shape and change the way businesses manage data, networking, communications and security and how individuals manage power, services and their homes.

We were privileged to see some of the most advanced developments BT is working on and as always the ImmersaVu 300 stole the show with its huge immersive screen of information, data and video in the sector of Smarter Services and Operations.

”ImmersaVu 300 provided us with the framework to showcase our Future Field scenario. We were able to gain real-time insight into our field operations. The different elements of on-the-day resource scheduling and allocation were all visible on ImmersaVu — a key enabler for effective decision making in field operations.” – Gilbert Owusu / Head of Resource Management Technologies Research at BT

Emirate Airlines PR - Suspended Immersion Domes

Emirate Airlines PR - Suspended Immersion Domes

News: 10 August 2015

We were really excited to hear from a PR company working on behalf of Emirates Airlines in regards to a challenging brief with a quick turnaround.

Emirates Airlines are a key sponsor of the US Tennis Open and wanted to create a presence at the event with the wow factor. The initial brief was to create a series of immersive domes to be suspended from the ceiling of the event arena.

The specifications of the design were fairly fluid and the premise was that that Emirates wanted a unique environment to showcase their brand. The domes were designed and manufactured complete with HD internal projection set up, and high quality audio feed and shipped to the States in matter of weeks.

The brief and time frame were challenging, and the team here were rightly pleased with their success. The set up will now travel around the world with Emirates Airline events and we are really looking forward to seeing some photos – which we promise we will share as soon as we have them.
